Translations

We have an in-house specialist team of patent translators providing translation into English from French, German, Italian and Spanish. For translation from other languages such as Japanese, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Russian to name but a few, our in-house team works closely with external translators who are experienced in the field of patent translation. Our in-house team works with our patent attorneys to provide high quality translations of patent specifications in all technical fields. Every translation is thoroughly checked for accuracy by an attorney expert in the particular technology of the translated text. Indeed many of our attorneys are themselves at least conversational in another language including for example, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Korean.

In addition to patent translation, our in-house team also has considerable experience in the translation of Trade Mark specifications of goods as well as correspondence concerning opposition papers and appeals.

European Patent Validation

Our extensive services also extend to a transparent and highly efficient service for the validation of granted European patents. Depending upon whether or not the European country in question is party to the London Agreement, the validation process may involve the filing of translations of the claims and specification in addition to the payment of national registration fees.

Our in-house expertise based on years of experience in delivering effective and sometimes urgent validation has proven to be a real benefit to our clients.

We provide advance estimates of the cost of validation in each of the European designated states as soon as the EPO indicates that the application is in condition for allowance.
