12th February, 2010
Paul Foot and David McWilliams, two partners at our newly created Sheffield office have been invited to speak at an event in Rotherham on the importance of capturing and managing the flow of innovation within business.
The event is being held at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Brunel Way on the 11th March between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
In engineering businesses large and small, the conception, development and evolution of ideas into new technologies, or at least enhancements to existing technologies, is vital. Ultimately, these technological advances provide a competitive edge upon which the business can build its sales proposition and avoid “commodity hell”.
In today’s cut-throat business environment, a competitive edge can be lost if the Intellectual Property (IP) surrounding new developments is not identified, protected and managed effectively.
In this seminar, we will seek to address some of the key questions surrounding this important activity. In particular, we will consider:-
• How to harvest inventiveness in an organisation.
• How to grasp opportunities to collaborate but avoid the common pitfalls.
• Management processes for converting ideas into monetisable IP.
• Exploitation models for delivering revenue from IP.
• How to interact with your intellectual property advisers in a more cost effective way.
