Withers & Rogers opens its fourth UK office

Withers & Rogers LLP has opened its fourth UK office.

Two partners, Paul Foot and David McWilliams have taken on principal responsibility for the development of a Northern base in Sheffield. Both patent attorneys were previously located at the firm’s Midlands office in Leamington Spa.

The office is located within the landmark Electric Works building situated on the prestigious and much sought after Sheffield Digital Campus, just metres away from the city’s railway station.

The new facility is being established to look after the needs of Withers & Rogers’ growing client base, which already boasts more than a hundred clients and contacts in the region. Attorneys from both the patent and trade mark side of the business will provide hands-on support for the Sheffield office, covering all major technological areas and industry sectors.

Both Paul and David are from the region; consequently they are delighted to be back in the area with their families. David originally hails from Doncaster while Paul has roots in North Derbyshire.

Commenting on the new office, Paul Foot said:

“Both David and I have been planning the introduction of this new office for quite some time and it represents a very exciting move both for the firm and ourselves. Without a doubt, Sheffield, and indeed the entire surrounding region, is home to some highly innovative companies and universities and our aim is to provide them with effective, commercially appropriate and timely advice on all intellectual property matters.

“We are ambitious both as a firm and as individuals as indeed are many of this region’s innovators, so we feel there is a good fit.”

Adrian Chettle, Chairman added: “This is indeed an exciting event for the firm. From a geographic perspective, it makes absolute sense that we establish a facility closer to our clients. This means we are even better placed to serve them.
