World Intellectual Property Day Thursday 26 April 2007

To mark this important day, the brainchild of World Intellectual Property Office WIPO, the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) is hosting an event at the British Library Business and IP Centre. It will be opened by Ian Fletcher, the new Chief Executive of the UK Intellectual Property Office who will speak on the importance of IP to the national economy. A new website of the IP Awareness Network will be launched on the day also.

Several creators in various fields of intellectual property will be addressing the participants on the role of IP professionals in their success. Also, CIPA and the British Library are inviting the media to attend, among them mainly business and IP correspondents from the national media and specialist magazines.

Karl Barnfather of Withers & Rogers has been invited by CIPA, to make a presentation at the event together with his client ROK on their interesting innovations in mobile phone entertainment.
