John studied at Bath University, gaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Career to date
John began his career in patents at Automotive Products Plc and joined our Birmingham office in 1998. He became a Partner in 2001.
Personal skills
John is able to draw on his in-depth technical knowledge and is adept at managing a large portfolio of products on behalf of his clients.
Sector experience
John has considerable experience of the aerospace sector and specialises in automotive technologies.
Client experience
John heads a team of attorneys who work for multinational engineering company, ArvinMeritor. He deals with patent applications, utility models, infringement and freedom to practice issues.
Notable successes
John’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of his clients is invaluable and has enabled him to develop a truly strategic approach to IP management from a corporate perspective.
On a personal note
At weekends John can often be found running his 1955 open wheeled racing car at racing circuits and hillclimb venues in the UK and on the Continent.
On weekday evenings John can often be found in his garage repairing/rebuilding his car to ensure it goes faster at the next event.
