Richard Worthington MEng, CPA, EPA

Higher Education

Richard graduated from Imperial College, London with a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Career to date

Richard entered the profession in 2002 and trained with a London firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, where he qualified as a European and UK Patent Attorney in 2007. He joined the Bristol office of Withers & Rogers in 2008.

Personal Skills

Richard has experience in working with a broad range of clients, from private inventors and start-up companies to multinational corporations. Whilst Richard primarily deals with the drafting and prosecution of patent applications around the world, he is experienced in all aspects of patent practice. He has advised on IP portfolios and matters of patent litigation, and has been involved in a number of European Patent Office opposition and appeal proceedings.

Sector Experience

Richard’s experience lies mainly in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, and includes automotive, aerospace, packaging, marking, medical, communications, photonics and semiconductor technologies.

On a personal note…

Outside of work Richard enjoys running, hiking and skiing.
