Elizabeth graduated from Durham University with a First Class Honours degree in Chemistry. Elizabeth still has a keen interest in chemistry and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Elizabeth is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
Elizabeth entered the profession in 2002 and trained with a London firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, where she qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2006. Elizabeth is also a UK Chartered Patent Attorney. She joined the Bristol office of Withers & Rogers at the beginning of 2009 and specialises in the handling of general chemical, pharmaceutical, healthcare and mechanical inventions
Elizabeth values good relationships with her clients. She aims to communicate well and give clear, concise and constructive advice. She has a wealth of experience of European Oppositions and Appeals and enjoys the advocacy aspect of this work.
Elizabeth has experience spanning a wide range of technologies across the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering and material sciences. She has particular expertise in fast moving consumer goods such as detergents and sanitary products including superabsorbent polymers for these products. As well as working on inventions in this area she has worked in research and development within the fast moving consumer goods industry for Proctor & Gamble. She has also worked with inventions in the medical sector including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Elizabeth has experience of innovations relating to mineral fibre materials in particular of protecting new processes to make these products. In addition, Elizabeth has helped companies obtain patents for inks, beauty care products and holographic sensors.
Elizabeth has worked with a wide range of clients. Locally these include universities, NHS trusts, and businesses of all sizes. A significant part of Elizabeth's work is with direct overseas clients, particularly in Scandinavia. Elizabeth also works with overseas attorneys from all around the world.
Elizabeth enjoys running, skiing, walking and cooking, particularly for friends. She also likes to travel and has been to some interesting areas of the world.
