Andrew Mears graduated with a first class Masters of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cardiff in 2003. He was also awarded a first year laboratory prize and a final year project prize.
In 2007, Andrew graduated with Credit from Queen Mary University of London with a post graduate certificate in Intellectual Property law.
For a short timeafter graduating, Andrew worked as a software engineer for a company providing mobile telecommunications network solutions. In 2005, Andrew joined Rolls-Royce plc as a control systems engineer, focussing on software aspects of electronic engine control. In 2006, Andrew joined the Roll-Royce plc Patents Department to begin training as a patent attorney. He joined Withers and Rogers LLP as a trainee patent attorney in 2007.
Andrew has broad engineering experience resulting from academic studies in electronic engineering and commercial experience within the telecommunications and gas turbine industries.
Telecommunications (particularly software development), gas turbine industry (particularly marine and military aeroplane applications).
Andrew is a keen rock climber, representing Cardiff University in British University competitions and has spent time working in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and qualifying as a snowboarding instructor.
