Callum gained a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Nottingham University in 1992.
Callum initially worked as a Patent Researcher with an internationally recognised patent information company before beginning his training as a patent attorney with a London firm in 1997. He joined Withers & Rogers in 2001, is based in our Bristol office and became a partner in 2005.
Callum's wide ranging technological and engineering interests have equipped him with the ability to very quickly appreciate the fundamental concepts behind new inventions. An easy going nature helps Callum quickly form a strong rapport with his clients.
Although Callum's technological specialism is in electronics, his broader engineering interest has enabled him to work in other fields, such as automotive and aerospace components and medical devices.
Callum works for a number of clients across a range of technologies, including Hewlett Packard, Smiths Aerospace and Ubinetics. He also does work for The University of Bristol and The University of Plymouth.
Callum has drafted and successfully prosecuted a number of patent applications through to grant concerning software systems for managing email and the automatic updating of software.
Callum's main hobby is music, playing the trumpet in a local concert band. His greatest claim to fame is performing on stage at the Festival Hall in London. Callum is also a firm advocate of advancing science education and is a Patron of the Cheltenham Science Festival.
