Bradley is a part-qualified patent attorney specialising in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications across a broad spectrum of chemical technologies. His practice spans polymers, nanomaterials, catalysts, foams, oil and gas extraction, chemical engineering, alloy materials, pharmaceutical compounds and formulations, medical devices, fine chemicals, and consumer products.
Bradley is an active contributor to the firm’s Case Law group, where he monitors developments in European patent practice and regularly provides commentary on decisions from the Boards of Appeal.
Education & background
Bradley holds an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD in Organometallic Synthesis from the University of Glasgow, where his research focused on the formation of nanocomposites as heterogeneous catalysts. His academic background also includes a BP-sponsored summer project on anti-fouling nanofilms for offshore drilling.
Before entering the patent profession, Bradley was involved in industrial research at Merck Chemicals, working on flexible thin-film transistors using molybdenum sulphide nanoflakes, and at Bacardi, where he contributed to analytical work on high-end whisky formulations.
On a personal note…
Bradley enjoys working out, especially swimming. Bradley also has a keen interest in traveling, having recently completed a trip around Southeast Asia.
