Rachel has a degree in Medical and Veterinary Sciences from Cambridge University.
Rachel joined Withers & Rogers in 2000 and qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2004. She became a partner in 2009.
Rachel is very approachable and her clients appreciate receiving her clear and constructive advice. She is able to quickly identify the relevant aspects of a case and provide a rapid, pertinent response to client enquiries. Rachel is also used to dealing with a range of clients with different needs. She provides relevant advice, tailored to the client in question.
Rachel has worked in a wide variety of technical areas associated with life sciences and chemistry. She has a wide ranging practice, covering immunology, especially antibody technology; biomarkers; medical devices, especially surgical devices; neurology and neurosurgery; and microbiology. Rachel particularly enjoys working on applications relating to methods of treatment and diagnosis, for both human and veterinary uses.
Rachel deals with many patent applications relating to medical and veterinary products and has substantial experience in overcoming the difficulties associated with obtaining patents for methods of treatment. She also has in-depth experience of obtaining Plant Variety Right protection and dealing with post-registration issues. Rachel is very experienced at drafting new applications. She has also provided a number of freedom to operate opinions on a range of inventions.
Rachel's hobbies include various sports including skiing and cycling. She is also often found in the kitchen, trying out new recipes.
